Married:
Ashley Biden, 30, and Howard Krein, 45, in Wilmington, Del., Saturday. In keeping with the typical privacy accorded to Joe Biden’s youngest child, a Delaware social worker, the VP’s office put out a spare, three-sentence announcement late Saturday that didn’t even identify the site of her wedding to the Philadelphia plastic surgeon. But wait! The parents of the bride happily blabbed in exclusives granted to their hometown Wilmington News Journal and People magazine, from which we can tell you that the church was St. Joseph on the Brandywine (where she was baptized as a child), the dress was Vera Wang, there were 27 attendants at the altar and 200 friends and family in the pews. The vice president himself laid fresh sod at their home in Greenville for the reception, and Jill Biden planted new vines to climb the latticework for the tents. The couple were introduced two years ago by her older brother, Beau Biden; Krein proposed last fall at Big Sur. “Howard is the perfect guy,” Jill Biden told the News Journal. “This is the right guy,” the veep told People. “And he’s getting a helluva woman.”
