Chris Brown off the hook for Frank Ocean case, but may need re-do on Rihanna sentence

It’s a good news/bad news kind of week for Chris Brown on the legal front. A rep for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department told reporters Monday that it’s poised to close its investigation into the pop star’s alleged parking-lot brawl with R&B singer Frank Ocean . But L.A. prosecutors took steps Tuesday to revisit his 2009 conviction for beating up on-off girlfriend Rihanna, reports AP. In a court filing, they said they could find no evidence that Brown ever completed his community service — and claimed that paperwork verifying his hours by the Richmond, Va., police department showed “at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting.” (Brown, a Tappahannock native, made arrangements to do his time back in his home state.) In an emailed statement, a spokesman for the Richmond police department told us “it would be inappropriate to comment on a matter before the court.”
