TAMPA — The cutest convention protest? “Dogs Against Romney,” which brought a pack of four-legged Democrats and their owners to a rain-soaked rally in Gaslight Park Sunday to decry the now-infamous roof ride of Mitt Romney’s Irish setter — and to promote a new iPhone game,“The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed.”
“Mitt’s mean,” said Kim Swygert, wearing a “Don’t Roof Rack Me, Bro” sign and petting her Great Dane, Devo. “She’s my baby, not luggage.”
Granted, these partisan pet enthusiasts were never going to vote for Romney anyway, but the Seamus incident has been a rallying point for them. Jean Wilson brought her rescue Husky Mika, who Wilson made a point of telling us always travels safely inside: “She loves to ride in the passenger seat.”
