The smooth sounds of Gloria Estefan may sound tranquil enough piped into your dentist’s office — but what if she actually showed up at your office? The Queen of Latin Pop commandeered a conference room all day Tuesday at the Recording Industry Association of America’s downtown office to rehearse her band for their performance at a congressional spouses’ lunch. And it got loud. “It’s been a real pleasant distraction,” a dazed staffer told us. “Though the folks at the other end of our conference calls haven’t quite understood the loud conga drums.”
