• LaVar Arrington and Nas hanging out at Carmine’s in Penn Quarter Tuesday night and seemingly not paying a lot of attention to the election returns on TV, even though the retired Redskin, an advocate for Maryland’s successful casino gambling referendum, had a rooting interest in this one — as did Nas, part of the rap braintrust behind the 2008 tribute track “My President.” They gathered in a private room with eight other friends and easily enough ravioli, rack of lamb and chicken parmigiana to serve 30 people.
