• Cate Blanchett dining at Rivers at the Watergate Wednesday night. The Oscar winner opens a run of “Uncle Vanya” across the street at the Kennedy Center this week.
• David Wu on a Delta flight leaving Reagan National for Atlanta midday Thursday. The just-resigned congressman from Oregon (wearing a polo shirt that said American Embassy Nairobi) seemed to be making a connection back to the West Coast.
• Taylor Swift touring Ford’s Theater Wednesday afternoon with a couple members of her band — apparently her guitarist is a major Lincoln buff who brings his collection of Abe bobbleheads to rehearsals. (Why was this not a part of the “How well do you know Taylor Swift?” quiz?)
• Michelle Obama doing a mother-daughter spree with Sasha and some friends in Bethesda Wednesday afternoon — lunch at Redwood and a stop at pottery shop All Fired Up.
