• Sen. Dianne Feinstein browsing the jewelry counter at the Friendship Heights Nieman Marcus Friday morning — not the really expensive stuff but the upper-mid-level nice stuff.

• Antonin Scalia dining at Fiola Thursday night. Table near the back with about half a dozen friends. Waiting outside at the valet stand, the Supreme Court justice was overheard telling his pals, “Us Italians have to stick together.” No chauffeur: Drove his own car away.
