• Peter Coyote lunching at the downtown M&S Grill Wednesday with four others. The activist-actor (who’s been in everything from “E.T.” to “L&O:L.A.”) was business-casual; had the Cobb salad and lemonade. What brought him to town? In an email, Coyote told us he was meeting with the “unsung heroes” of the EPA, whose work he said has been badly maligned of late: “I listened to one too many speeches about ‘jack-booted thugs’ before I got angry.” His research here was for a television project on the topic, he said.
