In other news. . . : D.C. man sues over ‘Avatar’ concept

A scene from “Avatar.” (WETA)
A D.C. man has become the second writer in the past month to sue James Cameron for a piece of the “Avatar” action. In a filing in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Bryant Moore claims that two screenplays he sent to the director’s production company share several plot points with the 3D blockbuster, including a “bioluminescent rainforest of gargantuan alien trees” and warriors who become environmentalists. “Avatar” made $2.7 billion globally; Moore is seeking $1.5 billion.
