• Fred Willard, the veteran comedian who brought smarmy windbags to life in such movies as “Best in Show” and “A Mighty Wind,” was arrested in an adult movie theater in Hollywood on Wednesday for allegedly engaging in a solo lewd act, the Associated Press reports. So many questions: Those places still exist? Police still bother to patrol those places? Did he learn nothing from Pee-Wee Herman’s arrest for the same thing 21 years ago? His lawyer told TMZ that Willard, 72, “did nothing in any violation of any law” — but it’s already cost him a job. Our colleague Lisa de Moraes reports that PBS dropped him as narrator and host of the new show “Market Warriors.
