• We hate to bombard you with casting news from “The Butler” — the forthcoming film based on our colleague Wil Haygood’s story about Eugene Allen , who served the White House through eight administrations — but this we just couldn’t resist: Jane Fonda has been tapped to play Nancy Reagan, according to Variety.

Yes, just let that sink in for a second.

Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey are in talks to play Allen and his wife; Liam Neeson, John Cusack, Hugh Jackman and Mila Kunis have been mentioned for smaller roles as White House residents from over the years.
