In other news. . .: R. Kelly falls ill, cancels Union Station appearance

Sorry, girls: R. Kelly’s book-signing at the Barnes & Noble at Washington’s Union Station, originally scheduled for Saturday evening, has been canceled, a store rep told us. Some kind of mystery ailment has sidelined the R&B star; his publicist announced that he fell sick while traveling to NYC to promote a new album and memoir, so returned to Chicago for treatment. No word yet on when anything will be rescheduled. Oh, and fyi, critics report that the book (“Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me”) doesn’t tell you much about that sex tape scandal of his or any other dirt.
