• Beyoncé has dropped out of a long-delayed third remake of “A Star is Born,” Variety reported, and more’s the pity, because how often do we see such cross-the-aisle collaboration?: The loyal Obama fundraiser was to be directed by chair-talking Romney fan
Clint Eastwood. She was to take the role earlier played by Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland but told E! News they couldn’t make their schedules fit — though no start time had been established or male star picked yet.
• Roman Polanski’s long-ago victim Samantha Geimer is writing a book, due out from Simon & Schuster in the fall, that she says “will reclaim my identity,” reports AP. Now 47, she was a young teenager when the director pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with her and then later fled the country.
