President Obama’s childhood pal Bobby Titcomb was arrested in Hono­lulu late Monday on suspicion of trying to hire a prostitute, the AP reports. The fisherman and airline employee, 49, has golfed and played basketball with the president on his recent holidays in Hawaii. Caught up in an undercover sting, Titcomb faces up to 30 days in jail.

• The mother of LeBron James was arrested in Miami early Thursday for allegedly assaulting a hotel valet who took too long to fetch her car; police said Gloria James slapped the man and that she appeared to have been drinking, reports TMZ. The Miami Heat star told reporters it’s “a personal matter.”
