In other news...: Cate Edwards leaves legal job to start foundation honoring her mother

Cate Edwards is leaving her fledgling D.C. legal career to launch a foundation named for her late mother, the Associated Press reports. In October, we reported that the eldest daughter of John and Elizabeth Edwards had started a job at Sanford Wittels & Heisler as a class-action litigator, focusing on workplace discrimination cases. But now, a family friend tells the AP, she has left that job to oversee the Elizabeth Edwards Foundation, which will promote mentoring and education — causes favored by her mom, who died in December after a long cancer battle.
