Nancy Pelosi has continued her chronic thoughtful-gift-sending ways through the debt ceiling crisis. We recently reported that she sent flowers to George W. Bush on his 65th birthday (“Welcome to the Medicare years,” she wrote in a note). On Friday, she shipped cupcakes decorated with the San Francisco Giants’ logo to her fellow Bay Area members and to the Obama family, in advance of Monday’s belated White House reception for the 2010 World Series champs. Ordering cupcakes is a complex matter in this era of D.C. cupcake wars – which brand did she choose? Sprinkles, we’re told, but a rep insists the minority leader “loves any cupcake as long as it’s chocolate.”
