In other news...: Rouge 24 chef to undergo heart surgery; Lisa Baden returns to the airwaves

• R.J. Cooper, the James Beard Award-winning chef at Rogue 24, will have open-heart surgery Wednesday at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, reports our colleague Tim Carman. The surgery will correct a heart defect that makes it harder to pump blood. Cooper will be away from the restaurant for six to eight weeks, but has lined up guest appearances by chefs Bryan Voltaggio, Jose Andres, Scott Drewno and more.

Traffic reporter Lisa Baden — possibly the perkiest person ever on morning radio — is returning to the airwaves next week, reports our colleague Paul Farhi. Baden is moving to WNEW-FM, the all-news station. She has also worked for WTOP.
