Alex Ovechkin and Maria Kirilenko. The Capitals star has been tweeting photos of his exploits at the London Olympics, one of which appeared to show Kirilenko — a tennis player competing on the Russian team — sporting some new bling on her left ring finger, reports our colleague Sarah Kogod. Alas, no. Ovi quickly shot down fan speculation, telling NBC4’s Dan Hellie, “It’s not an engagement ring.” But maybe he’ll pop the question someday? “We’ll see how it goes,” he told Hellie.
