• Married:
Dan Savage, 48, and his longtime partner Terry Miller in Seattle Sunday, the first day same-sex couples were allowed to wed in Washington state under a new law. Savage is the provocative syndicated sex-advice columnist and gay-rights activist who launched the “It Gets Better” campaign to bolster the spirits of young people struggling with their sexuality; he also led the distinctly new-media smear campaign to link Rick Santorum’s name to an unprintable sex act in Internet search results. The two also wed in Vancouver in 2005 before making it Washington-official; they have an adopted teenage son.
