• Engaged: Daphne Kiplinger, 27, and Dave Steadman, 32. The design consultant and St. Albans fundraiser met three years ago singing in the Washington Chorus; he popped the question during a concert dress rehearsal Nov. 17. This makes the second generation of the prominent publishing family to fall in love in the chorus — her parents, Knight and Ann Kiplinger, met there more than 30 years ago and are still members.
