Love, etc.: Jim Nabors weds longtime companion

Married: Jim Nabors, 82, and his longtime companion Stan Cadwallader, 64, in Seattle earlier this month. The actor/singer, best known for playing the ’60s sitcom character “Gomer Pyle,” told Hawaii News Now that he and Cadwallader, formerly a Hono­lulu firefighter, have been together 38 years, and that after some recent health problems, tying the knot was “probably the best thing to do.” Though Nabors has never publicly discussed being gay, he added, “I’ve never made a huge secret of it at all.”
