Love, etc.: Kim Kardashian files for divorce — is any of this real?

• Filing for divorce: Kim Kardashian, 31, after 72 days of marriage to New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries, 26. TMZ first reported the news Monday but it was quickly verified by the reality star’s pal/producer Ryan Seacrest via Twitter. Their August wedding in Montecito, Calif., reportedly cost about $10 million, but it also generated more than $17 million for the couple, according to New York Post estimates — the four-hour TV special just aired a couple weeks ago. Is this divorce for real? Was the marriage for real? Should we believe anything about the relationship of people who have a financial incentive in keeping us interested in it? Updated: “I had hoped this marriage was forever,” she said in a statement to her network, E!, “but sometimes things don’t work out as planned.”
