Malia and Sasha Obama: School first, then a cameo at the DNC convention

The first daughters will make an appearance at the DNC convention — but just for a few hours. Malia and Sasha Obama watched their mom’s speech Tuesday night from the White House, but will fly down to Charlotte after school Thursday for their dad’s acceptance speech. The girls stayed in Washington this week because Tuesday was the first day of school at Sidwell Friends (Malia, 14, is a high school freshman; Sasha, 11, started 6th grade), but they’ll join their parents for the convention’s big finish Thursday night.
