CNN anchor Erin Burnett made headlines of her own today when People reported that she married David Rubulotta, a managing director at Citigroup, last Friday. “Christmas is our favorite time of year,” Burnett told People. “We thought it would be the perfect time to get married.” The casual ceremony took place at City Hall in New York; a justice of the peace officiated. The reception, however, was more elaborate. Burnett donned a long, gold, beaded gown as she and her new husband entered the Atlantic Grill to the tune of Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.” The festive affair featured a classical guitarist playing Christmas carols among other holiday flourishes, all planned by Burnett. “I was overflowing with joy to have those I love together,” she told People.
In another low-key wedding, Ronnie Wood, the 65-year-old guitarist of the Rolling Stones, married theater producer Sally Humphreys last Thursday, according to the U.K’s Sun. The couple dated for a mere six months before tying the knot. Ronnie rocked a dark blue suit with pink socks at the wedding, while Humphries wore an elegant white frock that belonged to her mother. Best man Rod Stewart and former Beatle Paul McCartney were in attendance, as were Ronnie’s children, Jesse, 36; Tyrone, 29; and Leah, who, at 34, is the same age as Ronnie’s new wife. Bandmates Keith Richards and Mick Jagger did not attend the ceremony.
Though they’re not married — at least not yet — Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will be spending Christmas together, according to E! Online . “My mom has a really big Christmas party every year on Christmas Eve,” Rob Kardashian told E!. “We all sleep over at the house, and on Christmas morning we wake up at like 6 a.m. and do presents.” According to Rob, Kanye will hit the couch while Kim heads to the kitchen. “They all make breakfast, all the girls. We watch basketball. It’s a family day,” he said.
Not every celebrity couple is faring so well. According to AP, Bethenny Frankel, a former member of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” is now separated from her husband Jason Hoppy. In a statement released on Sunday, Frankel said the decision was painful but the “best choice for our family.” The former Bravo star, who has since written several books, released a fitness video and launched a national talk show, married and had a child with Hoppy in 2010.
