Names and Faces: Rihanna; Halle Berry; Justin Bieber; Willem Dafoe

The Reliable Source was off for Thanksgiving; it will return in Tuesday’s paper and online on Monday. Names and Faces is the column that runs in its space in the Style section on holidays.

Barbadian recording artist Rihanna tweeted an Instagram photo of her ex-beau Chris Brown lying shirtless in an unkempt bed topped with Simpsons-themed bedding. Although the rapper’s face is buried in the shot, his multiple tattoos [and black boxer briefs] are very visible. According to Us Weekly, the two spent the Thanksgiving holiday together in Berlin. Earlier in the week, Rihanna tweeted, “All alone in my big ole jet!!! See u soon lover,” presumably while en route to meet Brown in Germany.

Halle’s holiday throwdown

Halle Berry’s Thanksgiving festivities took a turn for the worse when her fiancé, French actor Olivier Martinez, and her ex, model Gabriel Aubry, got into a heated altercation in front of her 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, outside the star’s Hollywood Hills home. According to L.A. Now, Aubry was arrested and then transported to West Hollywood’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he received treatment for facial wounds. A judge has since issued an emergency order of protection that requires Aubry to stay at least 100 yards away from Berry, Martinez and Nahla. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13.

Bieber goes hillbilly for award ceremony

Justin Bieber made an, um, unfortunate fashion decision when accepting a prestigious award from Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Friday. He strayed from the event’s formal attire and donned unbuttoned blue-striped overalls and a black baseball cap, worn backward of course, to accept the Diamond Jubilee Medal, awarded to Canadians who have made significant achievements.

The Bieb then boasted about it on Twitter. Later the prime minister tweeted back, joking that he too had planned on wearing overalls.

Quotable:

“When I eventually looked in the mirror, I just thought I looked like my gay brother.”

Anne Hathaway told an audience on Friday at the New York screening of Les Miserables about her reaction to seeing herself in the extremely short haircut she adopted to play the role of Fantine in the film. Hathaway was referring to her older brother, Michael, to whom she is reportedly very close.

Spotted:

Actor Willem Dafoe, famous for his depiction of the villainous Green Goblin in the “Spider-Man” films, having a leisurely dinner with three friends at Rasika West End on Saturday night.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis holding hands and sightseeing in Rome while Kunis films her new romantic drama, “The Third Person.”
