— David Brooks on George W. Bush in an interview in the new issue of Playboy. The NYT columnist swears that in private, the 43rd president was the most fun he’s met. In meetings with columnists, “he would go off the record and be completely candid, charming and funny,” but they’d cut those parts out of the official transcripts. “I used to say, ‘It’s like a porn movie with the sex scenes taken out,’ because everything that was fun was gone.”
