“President Obama let me know I was his second favorite character on ‘The Wire.’”
— Idris Elba reporting back to fans, via Facebook, after attending the White House state dinner for Britain on Wednesday. No hard feelings, it seems: Obama told ESPN earlier this month that his favorite “Wire” character is Omar — but Omar is everyone’s favorite. And he told the British actor that he’s a fan of his other gritty crime drama, the BBC’s “Luther.”
