"We tweet with swag over here. It's called twaggin if you didn't know."



— Marion Barry in one of many exultant messages on Twitter Tuesday night after he easily won the primary for his D.C. Council seat. The former mayor raised eyebrows when he retweeted a message from a fan using the n-word (in what was supposed to be a complimentary way, but whatever). Barry blamed a staff member for the retweet: “Sometimes she gets carried away,” he told TheRootDC. “But I love social media. It’s useful and informative. And I defied the odds last night, didn’t I?”
