Quoted: Mark Wahlberg on 9/11 (updated with apology)

(Men's Journal)

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

Mark Wahlberg talking a big talk in the new Men’s Journal — supposedly he just missed taking a doomed Boston-to-L.A. flight on 9/11. Oh, really? The notion of hijackers intentionally crashing a plane was a shock to most people that day. Is Wahlberg saying he’s smarter and stronger than everyone else? Or just that he loves his family more? We don’t have his foresight, but we do predict an apology/clarification soon. . .

Update 4 p.m.: Oh, here it is. Wahlberg apologized to families of 9/11 victims. “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with,” he told reporters.
