“I think everyone knows what I meant.”


— Miss Iowa Mariah Cary apologizing for her on-stage gaffe at the Miss America pageant, in an interview with the Muscatine Journal. The fourth runner-up had the viral-video moment of the night when asked about marijuana legalization. She made it clear she disapproves but then uttered: “I do not think it should be used for anything but recreational use and health care.” Huh? A “slip up with words,” she later explained.
