“I remember the first rule of the game is, three strikes and you’re out.”

Ted Turner telling the Hollywood Reporter why he won’t marry a fourth time. Instead, the semi-retired media mogul and former Atlanta Brave owner, 73, splits his time “among four girlfriends, each of whom gets approximately a week per month of his time,” the magazine explains. Everyone cool with that? “Sort of,” Turner says.

Read earlier: One of the current girlfriends, author Elizabeth Dewberry, was the subject of a literary-crowd e-mail scandal when she left husband Robert Olen Butler for Turner. “Elizabeth’s leaving me is as much about the three weeks a month she is alone,” Butler told all their friends in a much-circulated e-mail, “as it is about the week a month she is with Ted.”

Novelist Butler tells all of Dewberry’s affair with Ted Turner, 8/2/07
