— Conservative French politician Geoffroy Didier in the Guardian on the high-class catfight (guerre des chats?) between French President François Hollande’s partner, Valérie Trierweiler, and his ex, Ségolène Royal. Trierweiler set off an uproar among the president’s Socialist allies Tuesday when she tweeted her endorsement of an upstart candidate running against Royal, the party favorite, in a parliamentary election — the most aggressive move in a history of public frostiness between the two women.
