Read this: Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace makes D.C. debut; Brett McGurk’s nomination challenged

Other interesting stories in The Washington Post:

Laura Jane Grace, the artist formerly known as Tom Gabel, at the Fillmore. (Josh Sisk for The Washington Post)
Against Me! made its first D.C. area appearance Tuesday night since frontman Tom Gabel announced he is becoming a woman. Now known as Laura Jane Grace, the punk star “keeps her hair longer than Gabel kept his and wears heeled boots, earrings and nail polish,” writes our critic pal Dave McKenna, reviewing Against Me!’s Fillmore show. “But her outfit was far butchier than anything the New York Dolls or Steven Tyler wore onstage in the early 1970s.” Oh, and apparently no more going bare chested on stage, as Gabel used to do. Otherwise, “it was business as usual for the angst-rock combo.”

Brett McGurk and Gina Chon’s sexy Baghdad emails have already caused her to lose her Wall Street Journal job — and now, several members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee are asking the White House to drop its nomination of McGurk as ambassador to Iraq, reports our colleague Al Kamen’s In the Loop column.
