Read this: Charlie Sheen police escort; P-Funk Mothership; Schaefer’s will

(Mark Gail/The Washington Post)
So was the Charlie Sheen police escort improper or not? Last month, D.C. police said they probably shouldn’t have rolled out the full motorcade treatment for the Warlock. But a new AP investigation found that dozens of VIPs — including Bill Gates and Jay-Z — and visiting sports teams were similarly escorted. The city is generally reimbursed for these escorts, though; and police brass say they’re used to play a public-safety or crowd-control role.

In other news: The P-Funk Mothership gets ready to land at the Smithsonian. And did William Donald Schaefer remember you in his will? Lots of Marylanders surprised to find themselves in it.
