Neera Tanden, now the new president of Center for American Progress, was a Yale Law grad rising rapidly through the ranks of the Clinton White House when her mom met the first lady, reports Jason Horowitz. “Clinton asked Tanden’s mother if she was proud of her daughter’s accomplishments. ‘A lot of her friends are partners at law firms and make a lot more money,’ Tanden recalled her mother saying. For months afterward, Clinton asked if she was financially okay.” Oh, mom!!!
