U.S. President Barack Obama. (Andrew Harrer/Bloomberg) Inside Barack Obama’s 50th birthday party: Al Kamen reports that the Rose Garden fete Thursday night was not a very Washington affair. Heavy on Hollywood (Tom Hanks, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock), but much, much heavier on Chicago and pals from the president’s school days.

So the Redskins finally stopped shelling out for over-priced prima donnas -- but Mike Wise fears they’ve left the fans without stars to root for. “How do you sell a Barry Cofield jersey? Will they even make a Kellen Clemens bobblehead?”
