So, maybe you’ve heard — there’s a scandalous new book about Sarah Palin? Critic Nick Gillespie, no fan of the ex-guv, is unimpressed by Joe McGinniss’s work. “All-consuming hatred and contempt rarely make for good journalism.” Oh, and that Glen Rice story? Not a lot of evidence. Also, movie critic Ann Hornday is underwhelmed by Nick Broomfield’s Palin documentary (“a glib, gossipy hit job”) but otherwise declares the Toronto Independent Film Festival the best of all possible film festivals.
