For a Web-savvy rapper, Wale is enjoying a big day in old media: He’s on the front of both the Style and Sports sections of Tuesday’s Washington Post. Sports? Yes, the superfan is cited in a story on the difficulties of rooting for the Wizards. “We haven’t had one of those organizations where we can say, ‘This is the year,’” the D.C. native says. But critic Chris Richards feels the same way about “Ambition,” Wale’s new CD: “What’s most frustrating is the irrepressible hunch that there is actual greatness inside of this guy — and that he just can’t figure out how to unleash it.”
