Rick Perry was talking over Mitt Romney at Tuesday night’s debate, so the sort-of-frontrunner tried to break in by clamping his left hand onto the Texas governor’s right shoulder. Good move? Hmm, maybe not. In debates, the rule of engagement is “keep your hands to yourself,” writes Ann Gerhart. Remember Al Gore getting up in George W. Bush’s face, or Rick Lazio marching over to Hillary Clinton’s lectern? “History seems to favor the candidate whose space is invaded.”
