Buyer: Gayle King and Kirby Bumpus
Seller: Stan Kasten
Price: $975,000
Details: As Oprah’s best friend gears up for her debut as co-host of the “CBS Morning Show” on Monday, King’s daughter has been quietly starting a life in D.C. Bumpus, 25, a Stanford grad and recent transplant from New York, has moved into the two-bedroom luxury condo near Georgetown that was once home to Kasten, the former president of the Washington Nationals (who sold it for a minor loss from his $1 million purchase price in 2006). Bumpus, who is Oprah’s goddaughter, has a background in community health and nonprofit work — and a graduate degree from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, Chelsea Clinton’s alma mater. What’s she doing in D.C.? A rep for King would only say that she came here for her career. (Update: Here’s what Kirby’s doing in D.C.)
