The historic Henry Foxhall House sold for $7 million, setting a 2012 record for Georgetown's East Village.
(Washington Fine Properties)
Sellers: Gerald and Eden Rafshoon
Price: $7 million
Details: The veteran TV producer (and White House communications director for President Jimmy Carter) and his interior decorator wife sold their historic mansion last month, setting a 2012 record sales price for Georgetown’s East Village. Known as the Henry Foxhall House, the 6,000-square-foot, four-story Federal home was built by the Georgetown mayor in 1800, hosting Thomas Jefferson and other VIPs of the time. The free-standing house boasts four bedrooms, 4 1 / 2 baths, six fireplaces and a lush garden in the middle of Georgetown — but no garage. The Rafshoons are downsizing and just bought a smaller place in Woodley Park.
