Seller: Rick Rickertsen
Price: $7.6 million
Rick Rickertsen
(Pine Creek Partners)
Details:
Robert Todd Lincoln lived here. So did a Francis Scott Key law partner, a J.P. Morgan granddaughter, and one of Eliot Ness’s “Untouchables” — but more recently, this sprawling and historic Georgetown five-bedroom home was the home and occasional party place of Rickertsen, the private equity man-about-town. He bought the 1799 mansion in 2004 for $4.15 million, according to public records. But with plans to downsize elsewhere in Georgetown, he put it on the market a year ago for almost $9 million; it sold last week, after a price drop, to a Virginia couple. (We’re told that biotech tycoons and prolific Georgetown mansion-buyers
Ryuji Ueno and Sachiko Kuno looked at the place but passed: not enough parking.) Includes a ballroom, maple-paneled libary, wine cellar, pool.
