So maybe that historic summit between Wale and Bryce Harper wasn’t the most spontaneous occurrence this week. The rookie and the rapper set off a social-media wildfire when they hung out together at Ben’s Chili Bowl on Monday night. Supposedly, mutual friends got them together — but a camera crew, it turns out, was also in on the act. ESPN’s “First Take” released a brief Web video of the meeting, in which Wale seems to sell Harper on using his tune “Bait” as his at-bat music, miming how exactly to walk up to the plate.
