After all those children of politicians snagging top broadcasting jobs, it’s refreshing to see one family flip that equation: Kirby Bumpus, daughter of “CBS This Morning” anchor Gayle King, has gone into public service. King’s reps declined to say what kind of work had brought Bumpus to town, but we’ve learned that she’s parlayed her graduate degree in public health into a government job. Health and Human Services officials confirmed that Bumpus is working as a confidential assistant in the office of the assistant secretary of health.
