Update: Neil Patrick Harris dines at restaurants you can’t even get into yet

We assumed Neil Patrick Harris would have fancy D.C. dinner plans Thursday, but where exactly? The actor established his foodie bona fides by dining at not one but three restaurants-of-the-moment on Wednesday evening: Graffiato, Toki Underground, Izakaya Seki. So after officiating at the National Christmas Tree lighting last night, he headed to Range, a new fine-dining spot in Chevy Chase.

How hot is Range? It hasn’t even opened yet:

Harris and fiancé David Burtka were the only patrons in the place, getting a special preview meal from chef Bryan Voltaggio and the staff in training for its Dec. 18 opening.

See video of Christmas tree lighting, below. Is it our imagination or did the normally suave star sound a little nervous, at one point talking over the president?
