Update: Rahm Emanuel is getting his house back; Obama campaign selling birth-certificate t-shirts

The man who rented Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago house is finally leaving when the lease is up at the end of June, reports the Chicago Tribune. Rob Halpin took possession in 2009 and refused to move out when Emanuel returned to the Windy City last fall to run for mayor — which played into his $800,000 battle to prove residency. The new mayor has spent the past several months in a rented condo.

• Three weeks after settling the whole birth-certificate fuss, the Obama 2012 campaign is hoping to profit from it — offering “Made in the USA” T-shirts and mugs emblazoned with an image of the president’s Hawaii long-form. “If the facts can’t make these ridiculous smears go away,” said deputy campaign manager Julianna Smoot, “we can at least have a little fun with it.”
