The Dominique Strauss-Kahn case triggered a major media culture clash – between the “gleefully francophobic tabloids” of New York (some of the richer headlines: “Chez Perv,” “French Whine!”, “No erci!”) and the protective but sometimes undiscriminating French press, reports our colleague Jason Horowitz. Meanwhile, DSK and his wife kept a decidedly low profile in Washington. (But you knew that.)

 Would Grace Kelly have worn wide-legged silk trousers? No, but Monaco’s got a new princess. Katherine Boyle examines Charlene Wittstock’s wedding weekend fashion.
