Anne-Marie Slaughter to lead New America Foundation

Anne-Marie Slaughter has seen the future of work-life balance — and it’s a Washington think tank. The former State Department official who ignited a firestorm last year with her Atlantic cover story, “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All,” will become president of  The New America Foundation, the public policy shop whose last boss Steve Coll (formerly of The Washington Post) was just hired as dean of Columbia’s journalism school.  The Princeton professor, who has two teenage sons, starts the new job Sept. 1.
