Did we just spot Cate Edwards stash her elastic flats behind a curtain at the People/Time party?

“I knew someone would see me!” She sighed. Yup, she confessed — the shoes wouldn’t fit in her tiny evening bag, so she hid them as she walked in the party. “I can’t walk in heels all night,” she told us.

Suddenly, we are obsessed with the shoes at this first of many, many Friday parties. Gayle King in sky high electric blue sandals. Lobbyist Tony Podesta in his trademark red loafers. “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie in 5-inch silver stilettos.

Really going to wear those all night long?

She threw us that dazzling smile, “I find it hard to stay up past 10 pm, so they don’t have to last that long.”
