That party you didn’t get invited to last night with Prince Harry? Well, obviously, it was nice. Among the VIP guests invited to meet Britain’s third-in-line at a reception at the British ambassador’s residence were Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, Sen. Tim Kaine, Sen. John McCain and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, according to a pool report; photos of the night found John Dingell, Patrick Leahy, Kevin McCarthy and Roy Blunt in the receiving line as well. (Update,  Friday noon: Prince Harry at Arlington Cemetery)

Then it was on to a smaller and even more elite dinner — scallops, veal, pudding — where the prince sat between Teresa Heinz Kerry and Lady Westmacott, wife of Ambassador Peter Westmacott, and delivered a toast thanking Americans for their support of the HALO Trust, a charity devoted landmine removal that is a special cause of his. Earlier in the day, he toured a HALO exhibit on Capitol Hill.
